The funny story is the names of the DiCarlo boys
Primo, Secundo, Murphy and Galdo
Primo means first
Secundo means second
Murphy was named after a neighbor they liked
Galdo named his fourth boy after himself
Galdo Jr. statred most of the valley pizzerias
Primo ran the one in Steubenville
Murphy ran the bakery-great bread

In either case some of the family is still trying to capitolize on the original, most of the others are similar but Ray’s in Wintersville usede to work for Galdo and many have copied

I grew up In Columbus and have since moved to Texas where the pizza here sucks!! Can’t find anything here that even resembles Ohio pizza. My favorite was Ange’s pizza on Noe Bixby rd. I still dream of that pizza!

Di Carlo’s, hands down the best pizza!!!!!! Grew up in Mingo Junction, Ohio….knew Primo, Galdo, Pepe (florida didnt know what Pepe tried to bring to them!!!!!…

My parents have since passed, while attending Mom’s funeral in the Valley we had to get Di Carlo’s downtown Steubenville! Thanks so much Mike! It may be a while but we will be back!!!!!!!!!!!!! Mike are you set up to ship yet! Hey….who knows He may see this! I was in the USAF and traveled a just a bit…..Pizza is a cultural thing……..I thank GOD, MOM and DAD that i grew up in the Valley….have tried all kinds……….”Take me home country road ” comes to mind….no other compares…….they are all different. live in NC now….can be reached @ PatsPlace58yahoo.com

Grew up on DiCarlos Pizza in Elm Grove….will wait hours for a tray on Thanksgiving Eve…..many come “home” to DiCarlos in Wheeling…without it well it just wouldn’t be “home”…..and it’s awesome cold from the frig…nothing better for a Saturday morning hangover
